Achievement in Music (AIM) is a graded music curriculum developed and administered by the Illinois State Music Teachers Association. AIM provides a thorough music theory understanding while outlining specific performance and technical skills in a graded progression: Elementary/Level 1 through Advanced Pre-College/Level 12. Workbooks are available in both hard copy and downloadable format for Levels 2 through 12. A comprehensive AIM Piano Syllabus is also available for purchase. Students studying AIM material are offered the option of yearly exams (January and April) administered by experienced judges. Students are evaluated individually and are not in competition with other students. Awards in the form of pins and certificates are provided.
